The company produces aromatics and acetyls, and olefins and derivatives, which are used in the manufacture of various consumer goods, including plastic drinks bottles, computer housings, adhesives, inks, rigid packaging, pipes, food packaging, and automobile components, as well as textiles for clothes and carpets. BP has a joint venture with China Petroleum &amp; Chemical Corp. The company was founded in 1889 and is headquartered in London.
