Television Cameras segment develops, manufactures, and sells closed circuit television cameras and systems primarily to machine vision, traffic control and management, scientific imaging, and security/surveillance markets. Metal Detection segment designs, manufactures, and sells metal detectors and related underground detection instruments for consumer and industrial markets. It products include pipe and cable locators, water leak detectors, property marker locators, and instruments for locating reinforcing bars in concrete. Consumer metal detectors include models for prospectors, relic hunters, sports divers, and treasure hunters. Microwave Communications segment designs, manufactures, and sells microwave communications equipment, antenna systems, and associated equipment, which are used in the transmission of telemetry, data, video, and audio signals. It sells its products primarily to military applications, government test ranges, law enforcement agencies, unmanned air vehicle programs, television broadcasters, and other commercial venues. The company sells its products through direct sales force and independent sales representatives worldwide. Cohu, Inc. was incorporated in 1947 as Kalbfell Lab, Inc. and changed its name to Kay Lab in 1954. Further, it changed its name to Cohu Electronics, Inc. in 1957 and to Cohu, Inc. in 1972. The company is headquartered in Poway, California.
