It operates in two groups, the Engineering and Construction Group (the EC Group) and the Global Power Group. The EC Group designs, engineers, and constructs upstream oil and gas processing facilities; oil refining; chemical and petrochemical; pharmaceutical; natural gas liquefaction facilities and receiving terminals; and related infrastructure, including power generation and distribution facilities. This group also provides engineering, project management, and construction management services; and purchases equipment, materials, and services from third-party suppliers and subcontractors. In addition, it offers international environmental remediation services together with related technical, engineering, design, and regulatory services. The Global Power Group designs, manufactures, and erects steam generating and auxiliary equipment for electric power generating stations and industrial markets worldwide. Its steam generating equipment includes a range of fluidized bed and conventional boilers firing coal, oil, gas, biomass and municipal solid waste, waste wood, and low-Btu gases. The Global Power Group also provides research analysis and experimental work in fluid dynamics, heat transfer, combustion and fuel technology, materials engineering, and solids mechanics. In addition, this group builds, owns, and operates cogeneration, independent power production, and waste-to-energy facilities, as well as facilities for the process and petrochemical industries. Foster Wheeler serves a range of industries, including upstream oil and gas, natural gas liquefaction, gas-to-liquids, refining, chemical, petrochemical, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, healthcare, and power generation. The company is headquartered in Clinton, New Jersey.
