Kubota Corporation manufactures machinery, and other industrial and consumer products. The company operates in four segments: Internal Combustion Engine and Machinery; Pipes, Valves, and Industrial Castings; Environmental Engineering; and Other. The Internal Combustion Engine and Machinery segment offers farm equipment, construction machinery, and engines. Its products include tractors, combine harvesters, rice transplanters, power tillers, and reaper binders. This segment also manufactures and sells a line of construction machinery, including mini-excavators and wheel loaders, as well as engines for various industrial uses. The Pipes, Valves, and Industrial Castings segment provides ductile iron pipes, spiral welded steel pipes, plastic pipes and fittings, filament winding pipes, and various valves; and various iron and steel castings. It offers these products to municipalities and public utilities for use in water supply and sewage systems along with industrial water supply, as well as for use in gas supply, telecommunication, and irrigation systems. The Environmental Engineering segment develops and markets environmental control plants, pumps, and related engineering to municipalities for use in waterworks, sewage facilities, irrigation system, rainwater drainage, and power supplies. The Other segment offers vending machines, electronic-equipped machinery, air-conditioning equipment, septic tanks, condominiums, construction, and other equipment and services. The company sells its products directly, as well as through wholesale-retail dealers, wholesalers, trading companies, local distributors, agricultural cooperative associations, and subsidiaries and affiliates in the United States, Europe, and Asia. Kubota was founded by Gonshiro Kubota in 1890 and is headquartered in Osaka, Japan.
