Safety, Security, and Protection segment offers personal protection products, safety and security products, energy control products, cleaning and protection products, and roofing granules for asphalt shingles. Electro and Communications segment offers electronic and interconnect solutions, micro interconnect systems, telecommunications products, and electrical products. Transportation segment provides components and products that are used in the manufacture, repair, and maintenance of automotive, marine, aircraft, and other vehicles. 3M sells its products directly, as well as through wholesalers, retailers, jobbers, distributors, and dealers worldwide. 3M was founded in 1902. It was formerly known as Minnesota Mining and Manufacturing Company and changed its name to 3M Company in 2002. 3M is headquartered in St. Paul, Minnesota.
