Transportation segment provides components and products that are used in the manufacture, repair, and maintenance of automotive, marine, aircraft, and other vehicles. 3M sells its products directly, as well as through wholesalers, retailers, jobbers, distributors, and dealers worldwide. 3M was founded in 1902. It was formerly known as Minnesota Mining and Manufacturing Company and changed its name to 3M Company in 2002. 3M is headquartered in St. Paul, Minnesota.
