It operates in three segments: Wireless Data Communications (WDC), Digital Multimedia and Networking (DMN), and Wireline. The WDC segment provides wireless machine-to-machine (M2M) communications products and services, which include CellemetryXG, Uplink, MobileGuardian, and VendView. CellemetryXG provides network product strategy and an array of solution components that support the M2M value chain. These components primarily include Cellemetry, a wireless data network dedicated to M2M communications; and CellemetryXG Network Services primarily consisting of customized billing, GPS mapping for mobile applications, back-end message delivery management, and interactive voice and Web services. Uplink is a wireless communications solution for security monitoring that reports various alarms, status, and messages generated by security systems. MobileGuardian is a Web-based vehicle location and recovery solution that combines global positioning system and CellemetryXG wireless communications technology. VendView is a wireless vending machine monitoring solution that combines wireless network access modules, monitoring devices, and the CellemetryXG wireless data network. The DMN segment offers networking products and services, and video conferencing products that consist of PowerPlay, an integrated hardware-software system, which supports the control of various network devices, including VCRs, cameras, and switches; and IPContact, a desktop videoconferencing software package. The Wireline segment provides wireline security detection products and services that comprise Digilog and DCX. The company sells its products primarily through distributors, system integrators, and value-added resellers in the United States, Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Latin America. Numerex was formed in 1988 and is headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia.
