It also develops unmanned aerial operations; electronic warfare; active electronically scanned array radars; airborne processors; weapon grade lasers; missile defense; and surveillance and reconnaissance systems. The Technical Services segment provides technical, scientific, and professional services for defense, federal, and commercial customers. Its area of operation includes system and product support solutions, depot operations, engineering support, and logistics and training systems. The Aircraft segment provides business and special mission aircraft; and jet, turboprop, and piston-powered airplanes to individual, corporate, and government. Raytheon was founded as American Appliance Company by Laurence K. Marshall, Vannevar Bush, and Charles G. Smith in 1922. The company is headquartered in Waltham, Massachusetts.
