The Life Insurance segment sells and services funeral plan policies and life insurance, as well as other traditional life and accident, and health insurance products. It also offers single premium deferred annuities, flexible premium deferred annuities, and immediate annuities. The Cemetery and Mortuary segment consists of 6 wholly-owned cemeteries and 12 wholly-owned mortuaries. This segment offers grave spaces, internment vaults, mausoleum crypts and niches, markers, caskets, flowers, and other related products. It also engages in preneed selling of funeral, cemetery, and cremation services, such as professional services of funeral directors, opening and closing of graves, use of chapels and viewing rooms, and use of automobiles and clothing. The Mortgage Loan segment originates and underwrites residential and commercial loans for new construction and existing homes, and real estate projects. As of December 31, 2005, this segment operated through 17 offices in 7 states, and is an approved mortgage lender in 20 states. The company was founded in 1965 and is based in Salt Lake City, Utah.
