It operates in three segments: Lodging, Vacation Exchange and Rental, and Vacation Ownership. The Lodging segment franchises hotels in the upscale, middle, and economy segments of the lodging industry. This segment owns approximately 6,500 franchised hotels, which represents 543,000 rooms. The Vacation Exchange and Rental segment provides vacation exchange products and services to the owners of intervals of vacation ownership interests; and markets vacation rental properties on behalf of independent owners. Its accommodations include hotel rooms and suites, villas, cottages, bungalows, campgrounds, vacation ownership condominiums, city apartments, second homes, fractional private residences, luxury destination clubs, and boats. The Vacation Ownership segment markets and sells vacation ownership interests to individual consumers; offers consumer financing; provides property management services at resorts; and develops and acquires vacation ownership resorts. As of December, 31, 2006, this segment developed and acquired approximately 150 vacation ownership resorts, which include 20,000 individual vacation ownership units and over 800,000 owners of vacation ownership interests. The company offers its products and services under the Wyndham Hotels and Resorts, Ramada, Days Inn, Super 8, TripRewards, RCI, Landal GreenParks, English Country Cottages, Novasol, Wyndham Vacation Resorts, and WorldMark by Wyndham brand names. It operates in the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, Netherlands, and internationally. The company was incorporated in 2003 as Cendant Hotel Group and changed its name to Wyndham Worldwide Corporation in 2006. Wyndham is headquartered in Parsippany, New Jersey.
