Zions owns an equity interest in the Federal Agricultural Mortgage Corporation that originates secondary market agricultural real estate mortgage loans. Zions also controls four venture capital companies that provide early-stage capital, primarily for start-up companies located in the western United States. The company was organized in 1955 and is headquartered in Salt Lake City, Utah.
